Anyone have reference material = bigblock+glide in a LS1 car
Anyone know of this being done? What K member + engine mounts will work? I'm thinking a front mount distributor would be needed or at least easier then cutting up the cowl?
Also, anyone using S+W parts? heard they has a backhalf kit, but it's not cheap!

1) Build it 2) Race it 3) Break it 4) Repeat!!!

and the power level where I think it would make sense to run a big block, the car would be nothing but a shell over a tube chassis anyway... LS engines are making big block power, and 1/2 the weight...
I VAGUELY remember seeing something years ago about a big block 572 that was shoehorned into a LT1 Camaro, but it was a GM skunkworks car, so who knows what they did to make it fit.

It's going to be a strip only car, to run 10.5 tire class. The 535Ci and glide are just collecting dust so it's only the cost to make it fit. the backhalf kit is mostly for the 4 link setup. On the LT1 I think they used circa 1970s monte BB engine mounts and headers. Not sure if the same would with an 1998?

I've seen a 468BB in a 2000 Trans-Am., i believe they used a UMI K-Member, it was a carbed motor and they had to trim the cowl just about back to the windshield to make it fit, but it did look great in there.

I know I saw BBC swap into 4th gen parts somewhere on the Internet. LS1 tech has a whole subforum dedicated to SBC and BBC builds, typically in fbodies. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/small-blo ... ecific-92/

Have you already located an LS1 car? If not why are you choosing that over an LT1 car?
